What are the two types of the pp interlock tiles?

2024-09-29

There are two main types of pp interlock tiles: PP material and TPE material.

PP material:

PP materials have excellent properties such as being lightweight, durable, and flexible. They are also resistant to oxidation, chemicals, and dampness. It can also stand temperatures of up to 200 degrees Celcius. For this reason, many use them as flooring materials for sports and outdoor areas.

TPE material:

Thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) has thermoplastic and elastomeric qualities. It is flexible and has rubber-like substances that process like plastic. These TPEs are also true thermoplastics that do not demand vulcanization or curing. Thermoplastic elastomers have both advantages and disadvantages when used:

Benefits:

Compounding is small or non-existent. It has shorter molding cycles and simpler processes resulting in lower energy use.It has characteristics that are more reproducible and consistent.

Drawbacks:

TPEs are more expensive. The TPEs need drying first before going through the final output process. It is to assure that applications like flooring will result in high-quality. TPEs with low hardness are few in the market.
